
Rev. Hoitsu Suzuki, abbot of Rinso-in and Suzuki Roshi’s son and Dharma heir, has been officially elected Vice-Abbot (Fuku-Kanshu) of Daihonzan Eiheiji, one of the two head temples of Soto Zen in Japan.

The Abbots, Leadership and Sangha of the San Francisco Zen Center offer our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you upon learning the news of Abbot Hoitsu Suzuki Roshi’s election as Fuku-Kanshu of Daihonzan Eiheiji. We celebrate the deep and long friendship between our communities, and are greatly honored and humbled to be part of this lineage that Hoitsu Suzuki Roshi is so beautifully representing at the Head Temple, the heart of the Soto School. May our friendship continue for countless generations, and may the teaching of this school go on without end.
