As the Director of Emergency Planning, Kogen will oversee preparation for emergencies at SFZC’s three temples, including fires, earthquakes, and medical emergencies.
Joshua Sandeman, a former SFZC resident, is a Nurse Practitioner based in Salem, Oregon. “Medicine puts me face-to-face with all manner of human suffering and it can be a challenge to take care of feelings of burnout, detachment, and despair.”
Zenju started writing as an eight-year-old. In her twenties Zenju was writing short stories and she submitted one to a journal edited by Pearl Cleage. It was published and that was the first time she earned money as a writer.
“I’ve been well trained for the Secretary position. I have been behind the scenes enough that I don’t feel so new as an officer.” There are many ways in which Eli feels supported in his new role.
