Sickness, Old Age, and Death— A Conversation features Lucy Kalanithi (When Breath Becomes Air), Grace Dammann (States of Grace), and Lennon Flowers (The Dinner Party). The evening’s discussion explores the opportunities for cultivating presence and an appreciation for the preciousness of life in the midst of sickness, disability, old age, and death. The speakers will consider physical loss, as well as loss of relationship, abilities, and identity. The event will be held at Grace Cathedral on Wednesday, November 2 from 7 — 9 pm. Volunteers will be able to attend the entire event. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to add your name as a potential volunteer, please contact volunteer coordinator Jeffrey Schneider at outreach@sfzc.org.
