Sozan Miglioli Receives Dharma Transmission

Seigan Sozan Miglioli, a former president of San Francisco Zen Center, completed the three-week Dharma transmission ceremony with Rinso Ed Sattizahn on March 9, 2025 at City Center. Meiya Wender was the instructor, Mary Stares was the Jisha, and Shosan Victoria Austin was the Anja.

Sozan writes: “I am deeply grateful to Suzuki Roshi, Rinso Ed Sattizahn, Meiya Wender, Shosan Victoria Austin and Onryū Mary Stares as well as all teachers at San Francisco Zen Center for their compassionate care and deep teachings throughout all these years. I am here because you are here.”

“This transmission opens a new window of opportunity in practice for the Hispanic Zen movement around the world, in times when it’s most needed. Gracias, gracias, gracias.”

Sozan will be giving the Dharma talk on Saturday, April 26 at City Center and Online.
