We are delighted to announce a day of celebration in honor of the valued members and volunteers within the San Francisco Zen Center Sangha.
Working together has always been a cornerstone of Zen practice, enabling practitioners to take zazen from the meditation hall out into the world. This communal effort forges intimate connections within the Sangha, one of Buddhism’s Three Treasures (along with Buddha and Dharma).
The legacy of this practice is rooted in decades of support from the SFZC community. Since the 1960s, the generous donation of time and talents from volunteers—whether in the kitchen, bookstore, library, garden, or through outreach activities—has been indispensable. Members also participate in work days, help build and patronize SFZC businesses, and contribute financial support through the Membership Program.
The Member and Volunteers Appreciation Day expresses SFZC’s deep gratitude for the ongoing support, dedication, and contributions of our wider community. We hope you can make it!
Please feel free to join the schedule at any time. There is no cost for the day. If you will be joining us for lunch, please click here to register by October 10 so we know how much food to prepare.
