Tova Green Completes Dharma Transmission

Congratulations to Jisan Tova Green, who just completed a three-week intensive period of practices and ceremonies this past weekend related to dharma transmission.

After several years of priest training, she received full authorization as a Zen teacher in the Suzuki Roshi lineage from her teacher, Abbess Eijun Linda Cutts. Tova was ordained as a priest by Linda in 2003, served as shuso (head student) in the following year at Tassajara, and has been a practice leader at City Center for several years since. Currently she also serves as director of development for Zen Center.

Tova will give the dharma talk at City Center on Wednesday, October 14, after a short ceremony in which she will receive a special robe. The events will begin at 7:30 pm, and all are welcome to attend.

Her residential sangha at City Center, especially, celebrates this milestone with her, having witnessed her steady and joyful dedication to her daily practices related to dharma transmission over the last month.
