Volunteers Needed for a Day in the Country

Clara House, a residence for families in transition, and City Center have a long-standing relationship. Once a year, we bring the parents and children to Green Gulch Farm for a day including a farm tour, lunch and time at the beach.

This year’s trip will be on Saturday, September 6, leaving from Clara House (just down Page Street from us) about 10 am and returning about 4 pm. We are looking for people willing to offer some of the families a ride.

Each child will be accompanied by a parent, so the volunteers will be free to spend as much or as little time with the children as they wish. If you prefer to just take a hike or visit with Green Gulch friends rather than join the families, that is fine as well.

If you are able to help with this event, please contact the outreach coordinator, Jeffrey Schneider, at either outreach@sfzc.org or 415-354-0379.

On Forgiveness

In this letter to the sangha, Central Abbot Tenzen David Zimmerman writes about forgiveness and repair in his own life, and how SFZC is working with former Abbot Richard Baker to reconcile a difficult past and move forward together.
