Passing Through
“Dream delivers us to dream, and there is no end to illusion. Life is a train of moods like a string of beads, and as we pass through them they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue, and each shows only what lies in its focus.”
– From “Experience,” Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Passing Through” is an exhibition of paintings by Patricia K. Kelly and ceramics by Vince Montague.
British born Patricia K. Kelly’s abstract paintings in hand-made egg tempera paint and natural pigments are after the Early Italian-Byzantine tradition. While at the San Francisco Art Institute, where she graduated with an MFA in painting, Kelly was the subject of Ryuichi Okubo’s documentary film, “Connections in Landscape”. Prior to the Art Institute Kelly studied art in Italy and the UK. She is currently resident artist at the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts, Mill Valley.
