Seizanji – Sacred Mountain Zen Temple in India

Shindo Gita Gayatri returned to India in June 2012 with a plan to build Seizanji, Sacred Mountain Temple, a Soto Zen Training Center in Thiruvannamalai – South India.

NOTE: This posting has been modified and will soon be updated.

The brochure and website for Nityanjali and the Seizanji project are up and accessible. Please feel free to contact Shindo.

The land for building Seizanji has been acquired; a slideshow of various views of the site is on the web site. Former Abbot of San Francisco Zen Center Ryushin Paul Haller will arrive soon to lead a Zen Retreat with Shindo at a temporary location in Thiruvannamalai. Joining Paul and Shindo from SF Zen Center are Mako Voelkel, Graham Ross, Judith Randall and others. Mako and Graham have been traveling in Asia since leaving Tassajara in September and Mako is posting blogs about their trip. See her August 26 posting on their trip to India.
