City Center Library Call for Volunteers

The City Center library is a great treasury of the dharma. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping us reopen the library by working on the cataloging process and to act as volunteer librarians.

Volunteers to work on the cataloging process: This is something that can be done pretty much at your convenience. For some time now the library has been undergoing renovation, both as a physical space and in the way we catalog and track the many Buddhist books we have assembled over the past decades. We will provide the necessary training. Requires a minimum of 2 – 4 hours per week, during weekdays Monday through Friday between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. You can schedule the time with Terri; see contact info below.

Volunteer librarians: You need not have any background in library science as we will provide training.

The shifts that are currently open are:
Mondays, 1:30 – 5:30 pm / 6:30 – 7:30 pm

These shifts are currently staffed, but feel free to volunteer to cover for a volunteer who is away:
Wednesdays, 4:00 – 5:30 pm / 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Saturdays, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

If you are interested or would like to know more about the work, please contact Terri Nuqui at ccabbotassist@sfzc.org.

    Hi Terri,

Yes, I would be interested in volunteering for the library work. I am gone for the month of September, but I can start in October. If you have enough people who can start right away, then it will be great. If not, I would be happy to start in October. Thanks!
