Tassajara Urgently Needs a Mechanic

Tassajara is urgently requesting the assistance of an experienced two-stroke engine mechanic, preferably with experience on Rotax engines.

Tassajara students testing a new pump

We have three Rotax 10hp engines powering Mark III high-pressure pumps. While we have an adequate number of other fire pumps, the extra capacity and pressure provided by the Mark IIIs will make an important difference to our firefighting operations. Please contact us immediately if you or someone you know has the relevant mechanical experience. Email Joe Rawitzer at and include a call-back number where Joe can reach you.

Other than the impeller, it’s the same as all small air-cooled engines. It needs three things to run: fuel, air and spark.
